An uplifting, inspiring new CD of devotional songs and chants
"Giving Peace a Chance" - read the review in the Byron Bay Echo, May 30 2006 [pdf 62K]
Album: Sita Ram
Artist: Nyck Jeanes and Rachel Zinman
"This is a fantastic, beautiful, professionally put-together CD – and I just loved it! When I first played it I envisaged families and groups singing together (as I was singing along) – it is just fabulous. The CD came about because Rachel needed to practice mantras, so to remember them, her husband Nyck put them to music – with this fantastic result. The CD itself is a mix of Bhaktis (devotional chant and song) – some fast and viby, some slow and dedicated, and a lot based on call and response ( Kirtan in Sanskrit). The sound achieved is very full and complete. It is just delicious. I have been waiting for a CD like this for years – when's the next one coming out guys? By the way, it is good for those who can sing, those who can't sing, and people who want to sing."

"Experience the joy of devotional chant and song on this wonderful CD. The mantras are in a mix of Sanskrit and English, accompanied by modern grooves and beats in a variety of styles. Chanting the mantras brings feelings of inner peace and connection"
Rainbow News New Zealand
"I just wanted to let you and Rachel know that we absolutely LOVE your CD. When I first listened to a couple of tracks while sitting in Liz Lord's car last week she said that she felt that your CD was world class. It truly is exceptional. Because we have been playing your CD nearly every day at home our kids Tahlia and Isabellah now sing most of the chants off by heart. I came out of my room yesterday to catch Isabellah mimicking your Hare Krishna chant while sitting on the floor playing with her dolls."

"I am happy to say that your CD is going over really well. I will definitely be ordering more in the near future. With your voice playing over the speakers I am happy you can also be an inspiration to my students like you were to me."

"How's this for synchronicity - a friend sent me a CD yesterday and I played it in the car throughout the day. It wasn't until today that I opened up the insert and had a read and you guessed it, it was Subway Bhaktis. I am really enjoying it - you both have beautiful voices - and I liked the originality that your CD presents. Congratulations on such a wonderful creation."

"Listening to CD, very beautiful Cd! Well produced and I know that you'll forgive me for saying this but Rachel has a very sexy voice! Also like the NY style urban sax! I can really feel the sensuality between you two on the album, very warm, very alluring, very good for my soul. thankyou.."

"The reason I'm writing is to tell you how much I like your CD - it's really fab! I listen to it a lot at work and find it keeps me in a nice mood for most of the day. I also find myself humming the tunes a lot as well! Kind regards"

"Nyck and Rachel's show was absolutely first class. I saw the first half hour and was blown away by the quality of the music, and the love! It's rare to see Love energy manifest so powerfully in music performances, angst, pain and humour are more common! Great sound out front, clear and balanced, beautiful rhythms, melody and rich harmony....What a treat."
Tom Whitaker, Byron Bay
"Awesome, we all listened to it at home. My muso son took it with him to play for his muso friends. I heard while I was in BB that the launch was fantastic too. Wish you al the best with it, it deserves it."
Anna Garuccio Melbourne
"I heard your CD many times and think it's beautiful."
Anne McCauley, Paris
"Michelle and I have listened to Subway Bhaktis a few times now while doing things around the house (it's great while cooking), it is quite lovely. I feel the CD will stand out from others in this genre as it really feels like there is a strong/solid core to the tunes. It has roots into the earth where I find a lot of similar 'new age' music vapid, saccharine and ironically spiritless. Subway Bhaktis is definitely more wholesome, richer. I don't know your partner but it really feels like you guys captured a real living spirituality in this recording, well done!"
Randolph, Sydney
"Thank you for sending in your CD. I have listened to the CD and it is fabulous! Well done to you both and all of the other people involved in producing the CD. I am reviewing it in the August/September issue of Rainbow News, which is due out in stores from the end of July."
